Life is simple, but not always easy :-)

Everything seemed to be so complicated while I thought that it was gonna be easy! I'm just going to the other side of the world, which was my challenge, but it will be all the same, but just all in a different language.. In the end it all freaked me out! I'm gonna get murdered by a spider in the heart of the Sydney city centre while doing the dishes!! (They seem to sit under the sink and while just grabbing something from underneath it sits there and attacks ya!!) Oh my God!!!! Mama!
2,5 years later..
Working for Fitness First in sales is a pain in the ass. It's bloody stressful job where the pressure is always on. And then there's close out. Close out means: panic!! All the clubs have to hit their budget of the month. Normally you work 10 hours a day, then you work.. well let's just say; your ass off.
In a break trying to relax I jumped on the internet checking out my mail. Yeah! A new e-mail from mum! Then the world turned upside down and inside out..
The same thing occured as 2,5 years before.. I got scared.
My most beloved mother told me WITHOUT discussing it any further with me that she booked her ticket already. I think she was even very pleased about it as well! It was to.. to..
I N D I A. MUM?!?!
Stories & rumours everywhere. The biggest of em all that what's gonna happen to me: CULTURE SHOCK!!
What's going on as well: filth, extreme poverty next to the rich, diseases, oh so many diseases.., stink, noise, millions, no BILLIONS of people, beggars (don't give one something or you'll end up getting in serious trouble by those who you didn't give them their fair share!), hassling, rudely staring even touching, shouting, food poisoning, maybe twice, assaulting, cheating..
I'm pretty sure there would be more! I had heard one other thing what DID inspire me though: India supposed to be the most colorful country in the world. Well that certainly should count for something?!
Mum and I have created the habit of meeting each other every year in a different country. This time again we were considering many places. One of them was India. It always had crossed my mind to go there, but because I'm gonna see the whole world anyway, I never took it too serious. Not my number one priority. Anyway, now I'm here. Waiting for my beloved mother to arrive.
I was freaking out for ages. Only when I thought of it though. There were only a few moments that I was looking forward to it. One of them was when I tried to accept my fate that I couldn't stay in Australia and I was pep talking myself up that a new adventure was ahead of me. Batti, the world traveler on tour again to the most colorful country in the world!! But a few moments after that I was the sad-as Dana again who was so comfortable in her life in Melbourne she was not ready to leave yet.
Another rare moment where I was really looking forward going to India was in the cue at the check in counter in Bangkok. (Yeah, I also didn't want to leave my favorite holiday country were I have been for the last 16 days. No way!)
There was this lady, together with a man, were waiting in front of me. She caught my eye. She was so beautifully and colorfully dressed (the land of the colors!!) that I definately could not restrain her from a well deserved compliment.
Apperently they were doctor and a engineer going back home coming from a conference in China.
While chatting along forgetting about my sorrows of all the diseases i was gonna get, the sun started shining again until heaven opened up completely. Powerful words came to me: "Don't worry, we'll help you."
I had not organised a place to stay yet (although I tried), I had no Lonely Planet or any other guide (I forgot at the last moment, coz I was still in denial to leave all the massages, fantastic meals and happiness from my beautiful Thailand) and I was exhausted from waiting a whole night at the airport without any sleep, coz I had no alarm clock!
So by saying those magical words they had helped me heaps al ready. Thanks to them I wouldn't be thrown at the hundreds of hungry wolves waiting for a bite out of me at the airport. Shouting and screaming will they be. Those hungry wolves disguised as taxidrivers. Like you're a meal they haven't had for a long winter wanted some fresh blood, any second ready to attack: "Where you go? Where you go? I'll take you! I'll take you!"
Those nice doctors had saved my life, I thought..
To be continued.
p.s. sorry if it's pain for you to read the story in English. The words just rolled out of my mounth..

Kus,
-Meyke
